Its been a long time coming!

I love to make conditioners; I tinker around in the "lab" alot. Of course my hair takes a beating because I just HAVE to test everything!

So,one day, I decided to play around with keratin. I tried it and fell in love! Because we make such moisturizing products, I realized we also have to focus on the protein. Don't get me wrong, we love moisture, but too much isnt a good thing! So after playing around for a couple of months, ACP was born!

Acai Berry Phyto is our new protein enhanced conditioner, however its filled with antioxidants, Omega Fatty acids (we love the Omegas here at HairVeda) and Acai (pronounced Ah-sy-ee) berry. YUM! New Treats!!!

Yessir! Or uh, Yes'm!

You read it right! Were tinkering around with a fruit native to Thailand called Noi-Nah (loosely translated as sweet apple). I currently use the trial blend on my skin and am completely floored by the smooth texture of the butter. I cant wait to make it available to all of you!

Oh yeah, how do you like our new shipping schedule? We heard your concerns and are working hard to make it happen in a great way!

One more thing: Retail store Ecodermis & Wolfberry (NewYork) will be carrying SitriNillah Deep Conditioner. They still have some jars of Vatika Frosting & Cocasta Oil.

Long Hair? Me?

I guess I can safely say my hair is long.

We had brunch at the stellar Georgia Brown restaurant today in Downtown DC (lovely btw! Wink

While adjusting my collar in the mirror, a lady who was washing her hands said:" What are you gonna do with all that hair? Hair like that should be donated or sold. I need some of that! You've got enough to share!"

That was the ultimate hair compliment!

So, now, my hair is officially long!

Shipping, Shipping & Shipping!

At the HairVeda Office, It looks like a labyrinth!

We're surrounded by boxes and boxes with a narrow path from the door to the computer!

Anwar and I (The Dynamic Duo Tongue out

) have been working faster than we ever have to make sure your package (s) gets to you within our normal time frame!

It hasn't been easy with the little one running around and diving in the packaging peanuts! We've extracted many transformers, and Legos from the boxes.

He does serve a purpose...he provides us with some comedy here and there! That little squirt! Red heart

In Search of the Pump!

Have you noticed something different about your products?

I never knew that swine flu fears would affect my product packaging. But indeed it has. Small players in the health and beauty industry don't stand a chance when major companies are in need of a certain type of bottle, closure or in my case...the coveted pump!

At HairVeda, we use the pump closure on a few of our products: CoCasta & Avosoya oil, Whipped Cream, Methi Step 2 and Amala Shampoo. Since the Swine Flu pandemic, we have not been able to source pumps from even our most reliable supplier.

So, where are the pumps, and what does this have to do with the Swine Flu?

Companies who manufacture hand sanitizer are banking in this year and have sourced all the pumps until may 2010!!! When you go to the store, you'll see tons of hand sanitizer bottles with pump closures which in turn leave us out in the cold!

We have gone back to using our flip caps in the meantime. I don't like it, but its OK!

Hair Timeline

So yesterday, I decided to look at my old fotki album! Omigosh!

I don't believe how my hair used to look in '06. Here's a quick snapshot of my hair over the years:

2006. I was at the beginning of my hair journey. I had orange streaks and my hair was a mess. I was committed to fully transition to natural. As you can imagine, I didnt take many pictures.

2007. I full year of grow and chop and I was fully transitioned to Natural! I was about full shoulder length at this time. I loved my natural hair!

2008 & 2009: Right now, I am relaxed Bra Clasp Length. I have been relaxed and natural many times and cant commit to just one. Above are some shots of how I wear my relaxed hair. More pictures are coming! My goals are to make Midback or Waist by the end of this year!

Baby Its COLD Outside!

Currently we have about 7-8 inches of beautiful snow! The wind is coursing through the street, creating a wonderful scene!

Are you protecting your hair today? On days like this you could benefit from a protective style, such as a beautiful chignon or high slinky bun. I've Been Cheating!

I love to conditioner wash at least every 3 days. Usually I use MC 34/7 or SitriNillah to get the job done.

However, I have been sneaking around with Methi Recovery Conditioner. Methi is my new love and my hair is thanking me for the aloe, panthenol (B5) and marine collagen. Wink

Afterwards, I followup with Whipped Cream and Vatika Frosting for soft and luscious hair!
